I will start by giving a very general introduction to the nearest neighbor method focusing mostly on statistical and Machine learning applications. Then I will present some introductive results dealing with the nearest neighbor radius (a key quantity in the analysis) and, in the context of nonparametric regression, I will discuss a central limit theorem. Finally, I will describe a new result, which extends the previous one, to a ''uniform'' version where weak convergence is obtained in the sense of processes.
